About this video

Pupils at Westray Junior High School in the Orkney Islands made this eight-minute film to explain that involving them in making choices about how, where and when they learn will make their learning more memorable.

They use images and examples from their community life to illustrate the skills and capabilities they want to develop and highlight the responsibilities they would like to take on. They'd like to have a role in choosing staff, to offer feedback on lessons and to sit exams when they feel ready, as well as having a happy, safe and secure environment.
