Stairway to success

East Renfrewshire’s Education Authority has recognised the importance of engaging people with their peers and school at an early stage, and has developed this educational programme in partnership with Young Enterprise Scotland.

Students from four high schools in East Renfrewshire take on the roles and responsibilities of company management. They identify a product or service that they will provide, cost and source materials, organise production, manage sales, record and present their results. Each company then markets and sells its services or goods at the trade fair according to their own decisions and arrangements in the schools focusing on their efforts and with the element of competition. Pupils are given training for their positions within their company according to their interests and skills.
