Female: I am a science graduate and I wondered how I could bring science into this project. And we were speaking about pitch and volume. So then we did an investigation about sound and pitch, and I used the concept cartoons. And we did some investigation and some open investigation the children planned themselves and carried out, so they investigated pitch and volume and we learnt, or reminded ourselves, that sound was linked to vibration. So we were managing to get the science into the project very easily, it just was a natural progression from what we were discussing.
Child: (unclear)... and we liked the science when we had to experiment on sound where we like got a box thing and we took a bendy rod and ... (unclear) it round and we ... (unclear) see which made the louder sound, the louder vibration, the bigger vibration. We also did the thing with the drum and put rice on it and when we tapped it all the rice would move because of the vibrations which made the sound. So there’s a lot of things that can be, like Guitar Hero can lead to.
