Transcript: Drama

Female: You know, I’d spoken to the drama specialist, and I’ve worked with Charles McGuire on a number of occasions and on various drama festivals with him, and said what the project was, discussed with him my ideas, and he whole-heartedly took it on board and again he developed a programme of drama in the context of Rock ‘n’ Roll. All along the way we have been playing the game as well, which the children found exciting and really did give them a sense of being this band member.

Male: So, welcome to the Brit Awards.

[Applause]

Child: Hello. May I introduce my lovely co-host, Fiona James.

Child: Hello, and this is Tom McDonald.

[Applause]

Child: We have best musician. And the winner of the best musician is …

Child: Emma Floyd.

[Applause and boos]

Child: How do you feel to have won this award?

Child: I never thought my career would take me as far as to win this. I’d like to say huge thanks to my band members and I’d like to say thank you for my great fans. Obviously none of you guys ... (unclear) ...

Child: You can tell them that.

Child: Oh, harsh words.

Child: Hush from the crowd please.

Child: I’d like to say one more thing though. The ... (unclear) album will be out on 12th July. Oh yeah, one more thanks to my mum, my dad and big brother for putting up with us when we were still playing in my garage. Thank you.

[Applause and boos]

Child: Okay, for our next award we have best guitar solo.

Child: And the winner is …

Child: Sean.

[Applause]

Child:… this award.

Child: Ecstatic.

Child: Shhh.

Child: You shush yourself.

Child: Thank you very much, Sean.

Child: Oh, I can’t believe I won, I am so happy. I could say, but better not. I’d like to dedicate this to my family, my fans and my singing ... (unclear). I just can’t believe that I have gone from playing my guitar in the garage to winning this award. I’m over the moon I’m back.

[Applause]
