The Scottish Learning Festival, previously known as the Scottish Education and Teaching with Technology (SETT) was launched in 2000 and originally focused on ICT in education. Since then it has evolved and diversified and in 2006 became the all encompassing Scottish Learning Festival (SLF).
From its first year until present, in total the Scottish Learning Festival has welcomed over 49,500 delegates. In 2000, SETT received over 1200 visitors; in 2010 SLF welcomed over 6500 visitors – a real indication of how much the event has grown and is now the pivotal event in the education calendar, inspiring better teaching and learning, and helping to create a confident teaching profession for the 21st century.
The Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) in Glasgow has been host to SLF for the past eleven years proving to be an ideal central location for delegates travelling from across Scotland and the rest of the world.
SLF 2010 saw the most successful event to date with even more seminars, exhibitors, pupil involvement and visitors than ever before.
