Visiting a Chinese school

Visit schedule

A visit to a Chinese school is a wonderful experience as the Chinese are fantastic hosts and will do everything to ensure a visit is as full as possible. Often guests are chaperoned everywhere, provided with a translator, driver and guide and taken out to lunch and dinner. Although very rewarding, it can be very tiring.

Here are some of the recommendations for the itinerary of a school visit:

  • Meetings with the headteacher/link co-ordinator to discuss the link
  • Lesson observations
  • Presentation to students/staff about your own school/country
  • Discussions/drafting of a partnership agreement
  • Meetings with staff about possible curriculum projects
  • Evaluation of the visit
  • Tour of the local area/sights
