West Kilbride Primary School sent in the following details of its Homecoming activities...

Primary 4 pupils will spend a term learning about Scottish culture and the ways in which Scotland is promoted throughout the world. They will learn about the importance of tourism to the Scottish economy and form links with Seamill Hydro Hotel. They will make their own tourism leaflets.

They will learn Gaelic songs and produce an animated film under the guidance of Gaelic speaking tutors. They will also have the opportunity to join a P4 Gaelic Choir.

The children will organise a Scottish Afternoon for parents and grandparents which will involve singing, dancing, quizzes, etc.

Primary 6 pupils will spend four weeks studying the life and works of Robert Burns. They will visit Alloway and realise the importance of tourism to the Scottish economy. They will organise a Burns Supper for fellow pupils and invited guests. They will learn songs and poems and participate in a Burns Competition.
