Charles Rennie Mackintosh project

The Primary 7 pupils at Dalry Primary have been learning about Charles Rennie Mackintosh as part of the Homecoming Scotland 2009 project.

The focus has been mainly on giving the pupils the opportunity to develop their skills in Art and Design through the four capacities of Curriculum for Excellence.

They have had to research the life and work of Mackintosh which included a visit and tour of Glasgow School of Art.

They have had to design a hat using the work of Mackintosh as their inspiration, being successful learners. They have had to organise a Cat walk show that proves they are confident individuals, organising everything from the invitations to the correct lighting. The pupils have also had to work in groups, being responsible citizens and effective contributors at all times to ensure the whole project is a success to each individual.

They have had the opportunity to learn first-hand about Mackintosh and Scottish culture, inspiring them for life.
