Homecoming activities at Craigiebarns Primary School, Dundee

Craigiebarns Primary School sent in the following details about their Homecoming activities...

Primary 3 began our homecoming year by entertaining their parents with Scottish songs, poetry and dancing. St. Andrew's Day was celebrated throughout the school with lots of tartan activities and in January, a special assembly was held during which pupils competed to win Burns certificates in reciting poetry or playing a musical instrument.

We have also taken part in a Glow Scottish poetry meet with other schools across Scotland and Declan from P5 was the winner. He received a Glow Mug as a prize.

Then followed the Glow Scottish Interactive Quiz. We prepared questions on Scottish geography. Our next Glow Meet is planned in the summer term during which some of the pupils will give a presentation about a famous Scottish person.

We have a Burns Glow Group to collaborate with two other schools in Dumfries and showcase our homecoming activities using multi-media and discussions.

Finally, we are finishing off our school session in June with a prize-giving assembly and Scottish concert for parents.
