Scottish Chamber Orchestra

Scottish Chamber Orchestra

SCO Education has a wide-ranging programme of activity and there are plenty of ways to get involved.

Discussion groups, study days, and a collaboration with the University of Edinburgh offer many chances to learn about the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and the music it plays.

iCompose

Scottish Chamber Orchestra

iCompose is a new national composition competition which invites adults, pupils and teachers to create a piece of original music inspired by works in the National Galleries of Scotland Online Collection.

Adopt-A-School

Each year the Scottish Chamber Orchestra adopts a new primary and secondary school, developing sustained relationships with the schools over a whole year. Musicians and animateurs go into schools every week to work with classes.

Supersonic - Bear Hunt

Guaranteed to have children singing in the playground, this project for early years uses the classic children's story We’re Going On A Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen as the inspiration for a magical journey to find the bear through a series of mini musical adventures.

Masterworks

SCO Education's flagship project for Standard and Higher Grade students is showcased in a public performance in September at the Queen's Hall in Edinburgh.
