UNICEF Day for Change is a fundraising day, where school pupils get the chance to do something different in exchange for making a small donation to UNICEF.
UNICEF and schools have been working together on Day for Change for over 20 years. Schools make a change in their day and students, staff and parents make a donation to UNICEF for making that change. The change could be anything from holding a non-uniform day, to staff wearing fancy dress, pupils having different food for lunch - anything that makes the day different.
Each year UNICEF chooses a different country and a different theme. In 2012, it plans to change the lives of children in Uganda by funding Sports for Development programmes.
