As one of the UK's biggest fundraising events, Sport Relief brings the nation together to get active, raise cash and change lives. All the money raised by the public helps people living incredibly tough lives, both at home in the UK and across the world's poorest countries.
As the nation celebrated the biggest ever year of sport, Sport Relief 2012 was held from Friday 23 to Sunday 25 March. One million people were expected to participate in the Sport Relief Mile by the end of the weekend, as well as in a whole host of fundraising activities at schools and workplaces across the country, followed by entertainment on the BBC.
Sport Relief weekend alternates each year with Comic Relief.
