The children of Bannockburn Primary have been involved in a transition project in the final term of their primary school career whereby they have produced an autobiography, which will be passed to secondary school and continued into S3. This is a project which is undertaken by Bannockburn cluster for all children attending Bannockburn High School. The children had been given various homework tasks in which they were asked to reflect on their achievements and success to date.
All P7 children wrote a personal profile of themselves, reflecting on their learning throughout the year, which was attached to the final pupil report. All pupils are familiar with the process of writing pupil statements each year to comment on their experiences at school.
The children used extracts from all these pieces of writing to inform the content of their pupil profile.
A positive feature of this profile is the strong focus on engagement. Learners are making good progress in beginning to reflect on their learning. This profile could be enhanced further by developing greater depth in the learner reflection.
