'A Curriculum for Excellence' publication on the Scottish Government website in which the Curriculum Review Group outlined the values, purposes and principles of the 3-18 curriculum.

Curriculum for Excellence aims to enable all children to develop their capacities as successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors to society.

In order to achieve this, many areas of the curriculum were examined, including 3-14 assessment. 'A Curriculum for Excellence' outlined reforms in assessment for learning and in the measurement of attainment.
